Beaches

Bring Your Bikinis & Speedos for Beach Fun

For the days when the only real agenda is sun, saltwater, and looking just attractive enough to make eye contact with strangers. These are the beaches for swimming, tanning, strolling, sipping, and quietly judging other people’s swimwear choices while pretending no one is doing the same to you. Expect soft sand, blue water, great people watching, and at least one person acting like the entire shoreline is their personal runway.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Fort Lauderdale Beach is Miami Beach’s slightly more employable cousin — still tan, still dramatic, still wearing something questionable, but with better parking and fewer people pretending their DJ career is “about to take off.” Come here for blue water, wide sand, beach bars, restaurants, volleyball, boat traffic, people watching, and that very specific South Florida feeling of being surrounded by yachts, sunburns, linen shirts, and fake confidence. It’s polished, lively, a little flashy, occasionally ridiculous, and perfect for swimming, strolling, and flirting.

The Cove – Deerfield Beach

The Cove is where Deerfield Beach puts on a clean shirt, orders something with shrimp in it, and suddenly remembers it has a social life. Tucked near the Intracoastal, this little neighborhood pocket is all restaurants, bars, boats, patios, locals, visitors, and people casually acting like “grabbing a quick drink” will not become a three-stop dinner crawl. Come here when you want seafood, cocktails, waterfront-ish energy, live music, easy conversation, and the kind of evening that starts with “let’s keep it low-key” and ends with someone seriously discussing dessert, tequila, or buying a boat. It’s relaxed, walkable, slightly nautical, and just polished enough to feel like you made plans — without requiring the emotional strength of Miami South Beach.

Pompano Beach Pier Area

Pompano Beach is where a normal beach day starts behaving like it has dinner reservations. The pier area brings the full little beach-town production: soft sand, clear water, a wide beachfront promenade, fishing pier views, restaurants, cocktails, ice cream, and plenty of people confidently dressed like they are either going swimming or launching a lifestyle brand. Come here to swim, stroll the pier, grab a drink, wander without a plan, and let the ocean breeze convince you that ordering fries, seafood, and something frozen in a plastic cup is basically wellness. It’s walkable, easygoing, and just chaotic enough to remind you that South Florida is never fully off-duty.

Miami Beach

Miami Beach is less of a beach and more of a sunburned opera starring tiny swimsuits, loud cars, expensive cocktails, hotel lobby perfume, and people making bold life choices before noon. Come here for blue water, wide sand, Art Deco glamour, beach clubs, restaurants, people watching, and the very specific thrill of wondering whether someone is famous, rich, hungover, surgically enhanced, completely lost, or all of the above. It’s beautiful, dramatic, overpriced, mildly unhinged, and absolutely worth experiencing — preferably with sunglasses, hydration, and enough emotional maturity to pay $28 for one drink without making it everyone else’s problem.
